Darlington will be the first track in which Juan Pablo will come after closely working with his new crew chief. Which basically will start to dictate how much of a difference the new crew chief will work with JPM, although this doesn't determine teh absolute future, it will give the fans a clear future of the next couple of races. Darlington is an intermediate track in which JPM has had 2 top 5 and will bring hopefully a better outcome. Juan Pablo has been consistent, if you count out the mishap on Richmond. Let's hope that Juan shows the good ol' boys how to get er done.

Ok guys, we are back online after a few technical difficulties. Email me if you want something posted or if you have questions or want my opinion on a topic.

Next stop is Phoenix in which Juan has not finished quite well, which is exciting since the odds is that he will do better than previos visits.

I want to bring to attention that Dodge in Nascar is not a strong team, and if you haven't noticed then it is time to notice it. I believe that with a good team like CGRFS, Dodge can further developp the engines and the cars themselves. But they are so far behind that the team is struggling. A little outsourcing would be great, maybe going to Williams factory and get them to revise the engine and maybe create some sort of deal. But that's just my humble opinion. In this case the only real option that I can see for CGRFS would be to go to Toyota, I don't think that Ford or Chevy would be smart since there are soo many teams using those engines. Toyota always puts it's fair share in the developping of the racing programs and I am sure that they would be thrilled to go with an extra team. Meanwhile mediocre cars is what we will see for a while, and hopefully sometimes the car will perform. But if CGRFS wants to be in contention to fight for a championship they need to get a good machine. More to come for the preview of the Phoenix weekend.

Great race for Montoya and the 42 team in Bristol

After big expectations from the team the Ganassi stable it was a bittersweet weekend. JPM had a pretty good race, being constant in the middle of the top of the field, waiting for the car to perform better. Reed and Dario were a little more in the back of the field, and most importantly Dario taking a huge hit now being an every week qualifier (He is outside the top 35). Juan Pablo managed to dodge a couple big accidents, never hiting a car hard enough to mess up his car. Again I praise the cup car since it seems to be much stronger, it holds together very nicely and all 42 (Brian Vickers car gave up at the end) cars finished the race which is not a normal thing for Bristol. It is clear that Juan's spoter and the team have helped juan with a his car, also helping JPM jump 4 places in the general classification and now being in 19th place just 86 points off the coveted 12th spot.

Despues de grandes esperanzas del equipo de Ganassi, fue una carrera agridulce. JPM tuvo una carrera muy buena, manteniendo su posicion en el top 15, siempre esperando a que su carro se mejorara. a Reed y Dario no les fue tan bien, especialmente a Dario. ya que de ahora en adelante cada viernes los carros en la posicion 36 y mas tienen que calificar para la carrera. Dario esta en el puesto 38 desfortunadamente. Juan Pablo tuvo manejo muy bien esquivandose un par de accidentes graves, de nuevo tengo que mencionar que el nuevo carro es muy bueno, Probando durabilidad y seguridad. Casi todos los carros terminaron la carrera, esto no ha pasado hacia muchos anos lo cual no es normal en Bristol. Es muy claro que Juan y su Spotter y el equipo estan sincronisando muy bien, y se ven cada semana mucho mejor. JPM Subio 4 puestos en la clasificacion general y ahora esta en el puesto 19, solo a 86 puntos del deseado puesto 12.

NascarLatino Preview for Bristol

Juan Montoya will be racing the chassis 634 this weekend to Bristol, a chassis never raced before and one of the oldest chassis made. JPM has good numbers in Bristol, he had a 2nd place in qualifying the last time he visited the track, but finished in 17th. The way Dodge has been performing the last few races, as well as Juan's love for the track, and along with the way he has been driving lately, we can hope for a top 10 this weekend. Although that is a rough speculation, it would be a good start to get himself in to championship form and get to that coveted top 12 spot to get in to the chase.

JPM correra este fin de semana en el chasis numero 634 este fin de semana en Bristol, este es un chasis que nunca a corrido en una carrera y es uno de los chasis mas viejos hechos para el COT. JPM tiene buenos numeros en esta pista, el año pasado obtuvo el segundo puesto en la clasificacion, y termino en el puesto 17. De acuerdo a como se han visto a los Dodge ultimamente, podemos pensar en un top 10 este fin de semana. Claro que esto es una especulacion, es una estimacion nada mas. Este top 10 pondria a Juan en mejor contencion para el campeonato y ultimamente poder llegar a este top 12 en la clasificacion general para obtener su puesto en el Chase.

Formula Sonrisas rompiendo fronteras

Entidades como esta, dedicada en el porvenir de nuestros ninos esta rompiendo fronteras. Como se lee en algunos comentarios en algunos periodicos en el que anunciaron el evento en Cartagena, hay mucha gente muy feliz por la labor prestada por Connie Montoya. Desfortunadamente tenemos gente que no aprecia el trabajo que hacen los Montoya, trabajo que hacen sin animo de lucro utilizando tiempo que pudieran utilizar en vacaciones o en otros hobbies. No entiendo porque hay gente que se mete a dar comentarios diciendo "JPM es un ... y es un creido etc..."

Solo les digo esto "WWOOOOOOOWW" desagradecidos, dejen de joder tanto con que JPM sea creido o esto o lo otro. A mi la verdad me interesa mas que JPM corra carros y haga trabajos como el de la Formula Sonrisas que tanto ha alludado a nuestros ninos en Colombia. Espero que la gente envidiosa se saque de su propio bolsillo un buen billete para donar a cualquier causa.

Proximamente otro comentario sobre la proxima carrera.

2 tires manufacturers in NASCAR!

Literally i believe that the actual NASCAR tires suck! Not that nothing else sucks or anything. I think that cheating like Carl Edwards crew cheated with the whole, oil cover and the nose jobs etc... I think that it will be hard to correct this things, but the tires? Why would an institution like Nascar would not take on two tire manufacturers? I am sure that it is because of money royalties and more... In Formula 1 we had only Bridgestone, then Michelin came on to the game and things changed for Ferrari and now Williams, and McLaren started to win races, and then Renault won a championship. We saw a very different outcome and we expected the tires to play a big role in the decision of who was going to win a race.

I can only voice out that something like this would bring more competition, different teams winning, and more variables to make the new Cup Car work better. I believe that the new car is amazing, it's strong, lasts much longer, and its safer. I think that NASCAR is going the right way with this car and I applaud them for it. The only problem is that the tires stayed the same, and that is just dumb. Well, until then let's just hope that they will fix the tires to keep our drivers safe.

Wreckcity, not sin city...

So within the first part of the race, Montoya hits the wall and quickly shows that his fenders are hurt or something is going on. Although he was still racing, it seemed like he was just cruising. Obviously knowing how JPM wouldn't just give up, it was imminent that the car was slowly but surely giving up on him. I was thinking that a top 5 was a possible before Friday when it was still a possibility. But after the crash during Friday's practice there was not much the team could do. Also the temperature of the track when Montoya posted the fastest lap was not the same during the racing weekend, which meant that the set up and the tires were not ideal either. Juan went all the way down to 40th place. So to think that Juan could get anything better than 30th was a little too much. After so many yellows Juan caught a little brake and the team's work on the car during the race to make the car better throughout. He managed somehow to finish 18th which was also his best position through the whole race weekend. I am glad that he got a top 20, this start for the season has not been very good for JPM. Let's hope that soon Juan turns his luck around, his car is responding well enough, look at Sorenson's times.

Montoya Finally favorite to win a Cup event

I am sure that some publications will show that JPM will be the favorite event (mostly hispanic lol...), but this is the first one in which I think that Juan has a real BIG chance. Juan tested earlier this year in the sin city track, posting a new record. Well, the record unfortunatelly is not official since it wasn't run during qualifying on a race weekend. But everyone knows that Juan was 2MPH faster than last year's record Kasey Khane. (28.914 sec./186.761 mph JPM 2008 and a 29.212 sec./184.856 mph set by Kasey Kahne in 2007. ) Juan will be racing the chassis #802 which is the one that he posted the un-official record. The 1.5 mile track shows a pretty good scenario in which the cars can actually race alone, unlike tracks like Talladega or Daytona in which cars run better in packs. Although it might be different for some cars, the new Cup car seems to work much better in traffic, and be sure that this year it will give us some more exiting side by side racing.

Fun facts for this race, Jimmie Jhonson has raced 6 times in this track and has won the last 3. Las Vegas is Kyle Bush's home town and he has never won, but this year might be a different story, I think that the race show will be Juan, Kyle and Jimmie or so I hope. Although I really want them all to do their best and still Juan to come on top wich will prove to some that JPM has what it takes, but more than anything will show that he deserves the respect for being one of the best drivers in the world. Don't mess with Montoya, he is a Karate expert! This is what Juan Pablo Montoya's Team Co-Owner and owner of a Mercedes-Benz store said to Kevin Harvick after last year's altercation. This is hillarious, I personally doubt that Juan will ever do Kung Fu or Colombian Judo or go medieival on Harvicks behind. Lol, by the way, Colombian Judo if you haven't heard, is the discipline in which you respect them because JUDO no if he has a knife! JUDO no if he has a gun! lol... OK, bad joke lol. Either way I have seen quite a few articles in which some writers believe that the only way to make stories and get more visits to their websites or blogs or whatever is by making up bad stories on hate lies between drivers. Well I am telling you, there is bad blod sometimes between them, but most of the times they take care of it with a phone call or a case of beer... Either way Montoya and Harvick will not be getting in to each other's bumpers this year, and neither is Clint Bowyer. These drivers have a championship in mind and trust me, they are not in the business of entertaining bad writing to create controversy. What happened was a racing acccident between Bowyer and Montoya, let me elaborate on what I saw. They get on to the restart, Montoya, Bush and co. are going way faster than Bowyer in front, so when they catch up, it was either Bowyer being hit by Montoya, or Montoya being taken out by the cars behind for slowing down. I might be wrong, and you can comment all you want on it, but that's what I saw.

OK, predictions for this weekend is Juan finishes better than 20th which is much better than last years Fontana visit lol. Despues del Daytona 500 en el pasado domingo, se han hablado de como JPM hace lo que sea para ganar asi como el Intimadator, Dale Sr.

Montoya not so hot in Daytona

Unfortunately JPM didn't have a good showing in the Daytona season opener, his final position in 32nd just showed the lack of handling the car was giving him. Never the less Montoya did pretty good progress in doing what he does best which is passing and setting himself as best as possible against crashes, he escaped two big crashes and kept the Havoline/Texaco N42 Car away from the wall and accidents. Even though some might think that the race was a disaster I want to point out that Juan had a great car. The only problem is that his car was handling much better in the low lane and not so much in the middle lane. The high lane the car was much looser and therefore Juan had no chance on getting someone to help him push to the front. During the race he went all the way to the front to 2nd position, but without a partner to run he was a sitting duck. Fontana will be another story in which Juan should finish strong if he wants to stay in sight of the Chase. The good news is that Chip Ganassi racing team has developed a better car than last years (Reed Sorenson finished 5th, GREAT JOB!!!) even though it didn't seem the case for Montoya, I think that he was strong and and maybe that Montoya should have worked more in a set up for a car that could run high as well as in the middle. I can see how setting up a car that runs low would set Juan different and give him the extra edge, but in this case it didn't work that way.He seemed to be the only one in that lane. Maybe a strategy like that wold work in a short track. Let's hope that notes have been taken, and that the rest of the year will come with better results. Well, I am sure better results will come than from last year.

No mas Villeneuve en Nascar Sprint Cup

Desafortunadamente Jaques Villeneuve no va a correr mas en el carro Numero 29, ya que no ha conseguido un Sponsor. Su puesto lo van a tomar dos veteranos que corren usualmente el Truck Series.
La nota no es definitiva, pero si Jaques Villeneuve no consigue un Sponsor pronto, seguro se queda sin correr por todo el año. Esperemos que consiga plata, asi lo podemos ver en mas duelos con JPM asi como lo vimos en la Formula1.

Mis predicciones para la carrera,
1-Dale Junior
2- Jimmie Johnson,
3 a 5 Waltrip, Stewart, Bifle.
Montoya va a estar en el top 15 y ojala de 8. Lo cual seria un buen comienzo. Un top 5 para JPM seria un buen logro.

Si, lo oyo muy bien!
Juan Pablo le dio en la cabeza a un luchador, las razones no son completamente claras. Aparentemente le dio en la cabeza porque dijo que los carros de Nascar son muy feos. A Juan no le gusto ni cinco, entonces Juan cojio una silla y bueno... mire el video hehehe.

Sorenson not helping Montoya

Great showing by the Ganassi drivers today, Too bad that Villeneuve was so loose during the shootout and taking out 3 drivers including Dario Franchitti who looked quite descent for his first Daytona500 with a Sprint/Cup car. I honestly can see why Jaques had to push so hard, given that he doesn't have a main sponsor, too bad that the border line got him on to the wall. He deserves to have a main sponsor, hopefully soon he will get one so that we can see great driving from him. The Ganassi drivers had a meeting and obviously what goes on in those meetings usually doesn't leak out, but one thing was well said by Juan Pablo during the shoot out "We talked about this (Helping each other out) during the meeting". Those were Montoya's words during the Shoot out when he (JPM) was running in front from 18th after the last pit stop, all the way to 4th place. In which Reed left his man hanging, literally. At one point Montoya was trying to get closer to the top spot through bump drafting, whether Reed did it on purpose or not, it was clear that there was no intention on working as a team mate. I hope that these two can work things out, they seem to have a very strong car and they would be much stronger working together rather than alone. Montoya looks very promising for the Daytona500, I am predicting a top15 at least, given he has the faster car in the Ganassi/Sabates garage.
Montoya will start in 15th place and Sorenson in 5th.

Very exciting season coming up for the international drivers, I cannot wait to see another duel between Juan Montoya and Jackes Villeneueve. I personally like both drivers, but being that I am Colombian I happen to cheer for Montoya a little more than I would for Villeneuve. Either way I can't wait to see how Franchitti would do in the ovals as well as all of the newbies.
Personally I want them all to do well, even Cry babbie's own Robbie Gordon. There is not much that hasn't being posted or published yet in any website, but I want to make sure that all my readers know that i will be publishing new content after every race with my own view of the race.
My credentials are known by some, but my passion for motors ports will be represented by being objective and hopefully with great accuracy. I have followed most of the "new" (New since 2007 in Nascar series) drivers for a couple of years and I my views and comments expressed through some articles have sparked some friendships. So I have decided to jump on the Blog wagon and decided start NascarLatino.
